Reading is more than a pastime, stories can shape, and even change, the lives of people who read them, especially children. In honor of Read Across America Day, an initiative is making sure Kern County kids have books at home and ones that make them feel seen. United Way of Central Eastern California read books, sang songs, distributed home libraries filled with books and resources to multiple schools throughout Kern County in honor of Read Across America. Thank you to all of our partners and the organizations that allowed us to celebrate and make this week special for the children in Kern County!
