Mindy joined United Way of Central Eastern California in November of 2023 as a Family Life Educator. Although raised in the United States, Mindy was born in South Korea and lived in the country for several years of her life. She is fluent in the Korean language and is proud to be a part of the Asian community. She understands the struggles of living as a bilingual individual who comes from a different country, so she began to grow a passion for helping those who come from different backgrounds and cultures. To be able to help non-English speakers, she acquired the Certificate of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages as well as continuing her college education at Cuesta College. Being a Family Life Educator at United Way has opened the road to her teaching journey and she is proud to be a part of an organization that helps the community in many ways. She currently works hard to improve her teaching skills and familiarize students with positive sexual education.
