Relief for Energy Assistance through Community Help (REACH)

For over 30 years, the REACH program has helped low-income families keep their utilities services turned on in times of hardship. 

The REACH program helps you pay for energy during a crisis, REACH provides an energy credit based on the past due bill (energy support is subject to funding availability). Over 170 Nonprofits organizations run the REACH program Northern and Central California.

Complete the following steps to enroll in REACH: 

Determine wether you qualify, if you answer yes to the questions below you may qualify for the REACH program. 

To apply, download & fill out the application:

  • Are you a PG&E customer? 
  • Is the PG&E bill in your name or in the name of an adult living in the residence? 
  • Are you at risk of your utility service being terminated? Must have a past due balance. Must not be part of an arrangement payment plan. 
Before application submission:
  • Make sure to attach your past-due bill that has a 15-day and/or 48-hour notice.
  • Provide proof of income for the last 30 days for all family members in the household who receive income.
  • If you don’t receive income, please fill out the “Zero Income Form” and attach it with your application.  
  • If paid in cash, (E.g. Uber, DoorDash, etc) Please fill out “Other Income Form” and attach it with your application.
  • Please attach all applicable forms with REACH application before submission.
