Buttonwillow Born Learning Trail Grand Opening

Home / Buttonwillow Born Learning Trail Grand Opening

United Way of Central Eastern California, Chevron, and Buttonwillow Recreation and Park District installed Kern County’s sixth Born Learning Trail at Buttonwillow Park. The Born Learning Trail provides a fun way for parents/caregivers to interact with children from newborn to age five. The trail, a 10-station circuit course with learning activities at each station, is marked in English and Spanish.

The trails provide benefits for Kern County that include: 1) Children and parents/caregivers can actively interact throughout the trail; 2) Each station helps boost language and literacy skills; 3) Children get the opportunity to experience that learning is fun and engaging.

United Way of Central Eastern California focuses on early childhood development and the Born Learning Trail is part of this initiative. As important, the trails bring community advocacy and volunteerism together.
