Alisia Sanchez

Alisia Sanchez serves United Way of Central Eastern California as the Marketing and Fundraising Manager, overseeing fundraising, nonprofit marketing, promotional programs, and special events.

Born and raised in Bakersfield, she attended Bakersfield College and received an associate degree in journalism before transferring to California State University, Bakersfield where she received a bachelor’s degree in communications with an emphasis on digital media and a minor in studio art.

Alisia has experience working with nonprofit organizations, assisting with social media management, public relations, fundraising, strategic communications, and more.

In her previous role as Marketing Manager at Valley Animal Center for nearly four years, Alisia worked tirelessly to rescue and find “furever” homes for thousands of homeless dogs and cats in the Central Valley. Using her skills as a talented writer, photographer and videographer, she played an integral role in launching the organization’s marketing, fundraising, and event planning efforts. She attributes her love of animals to taking the initiative to excel as a dedicated animal advocate, securing substantial funds needed to increase the organization’s community impact and ensure continued operations.

Currently, Alisia is a board member of Save A Life Today, a nonprofit organization dedicated to suicide prevention and awareness in Kern County. In her spare time, she enjoys watching movies and spending time with her pets, which includes five cats, Bright Eyes, Max, Emmy, Igby, and Gilby, and one pup, DW.

Alisia is eager to make a positive impact in her own hometown and beyond, assisting United Way of Central Eastern California in its marketing and fundraising efforts.
